So I can’t even tell you how long I have dreamed about setting up a vintage schoolhouse themed shoot. I love the charm and simplistic nostalgia of one-room schoolhouses, with their George Washington portrait calmly watching over the classroom, and a bell that lets all the kids know that school is in session. I love slates and chalk smells and old wood and words like arithmetic. I love children eager to learn, and teachers eager to teach.
So… I teamed up with the amazing Anders Ruff and Made by Morgan and together we staged a full on vintage classroom photo shoot at the historic schoolhouse at Rural Hill in Davidson, NC.
We had some absolutely amazing child models that worked so well with us. Little J is a little actor, anything that I suggested he do, he took and ran with it. Expressions and everything. We wanted the scenes to tell a story, and have a lot of personality.
