Before our photo session, I spoke with M several times about ideas, color schemes, props, and it was quite a collaboration on both of our parts. She is a designer with a similar aesthetic to me– a love of color, all things vintage, and beautiful evening light. We both brought lots and lots and lots of pretties to the session and once they were in our grove of trees as the sun was setting, everything looked beautiful.
It was so important for me to not loose sight of the expression of love of the family instead of all of the gorgeousness that was around us. First and foremost, I consider myself a lifestyle photographer. This means that I go after the unscripted (or in many situations, suggestions that bring about the unscripted moments). I love love. I love looking at pictures of people that show it. There was no need to prompt this family at all. The love for each other just oozed out of their pores and all over my camera. Beautiful, glowey, sweet and sunshiney love. I did not put my camera down until the sun had sank and I hugged them goodbye.
Thank you so much R family. You are amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment with you 🙂
